Russel Jones and Willi Fuchs are some of the speakers confirmed by the Committee Program to WEC 2008. Russel Jones is one of the most active consultants in Engineering Education, working through World Expertise LLC in the international arena. Currently, he is serving as chair of the Capacity Building Committee of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO). Jones is the coordinator of the theme Engineering Beyond Boundaries, which is a space for discussing the way to overcome “a geographic boundary, and the aspects of professional mobility and an academic boundary, the interdisciplinary challenges”.
According to the President of the Program Committee, prof. Luiz Scavarda, other speaker who will talk about the Engineering Beyond Boundaries, is Willi Fuchs. Executive- director of the German Engineers Association, Fuchs is vice-president of WFEO and president of the European Federation of Engineering Associations (FEANI).
Some of the themes that will be discussed are Transdisciplinary Profile, International Profile, The Innovative Engineer, Research and Development on Engineering Education, Quality Control in Engineering and Engineering for Symmetrical Globalization, among others.
