The president of Confea, eng. Marcos Túlio de Melo, met the director of Holding Vale, Carlos Anísio Figueiredo. It was the first contact to viable the participation of Vale in the World Engineers’ Convention, which will gather around 6 thousand engineers from all over the world in Brasília, on December 2008.
“The intention is that at least 1/3 of these participants are composed by foreign professionals and the participation of Vale is extremely important to call this audience”, said Marcos Túlio during the meeting. According to Carlos Anísio, it is very possible that Vale participates in WEC as speaker. “We usually present the work that Vale develops all over the world. We will analyze this proposal to participate in WEC 2008 carefully”, Figueiredo pointed out.
The millennium goals set by the United Nations are the focus of the event, which will mention the way engineers will contribute. The Brazilian Federation of Engineering (Febrae) has been scheduling the program.
At the same time, there will be a technological exhibition for energy, an event organized by Abipti (Brazilian Association of Technological Research Institutions), one of the partners of Confea and Febrae in WEC.
The president of Febrae, Carlos Moura, the executive secretary of Abipti, Zuhair Warwar, the programs and projects superintendent of Confea, engineer Antônio Roberto Martins, the presidency assistant, eng. Carmem Eleonora and the former councilor of Confea, eng. Paulo Bubach were also in the meeting.
